The Art of Afternoon Tea: A Quintessentially British Tradition

After the suspension due to the tragic sudden  death of my beloved wife Christine. It is the correct time to get back full time to my all time favourite hobby. “The Partaking of an Afternoon Tea”.

There were two Christmas AT presents outstanding. One gifted by daughter Gaynor to Tong Garden Centre. The other by Gaynor’s daughter, my great-granddaughter, Chelsie to Mama Doreen’s Emporium, Harrogate, North Yorkshire UK

Gaynor, naturally, accompanied me to Tong GC. My impression was. There are now new operators in the down stairs Blooms Restaurant and Mezzanine Restaurant.  AT is now solely served in the MR. I thought; Not overly impressed. Very small sandwiches, mini scones. Well everything mini. Not value for money. Photo: with Gaynor

Certainly not an emporium. A wonderful very quirky shop full of nice buns and specialising in Afternoon Teas with a difference. The difference being in the themed choices. As it was late October, you’ve guessed it, the theme was Halloween. Ghoulish sweet figurines and even a dry ice graveyard headstone. Wonderful. The place ambiance was marvellous with seasonal balloon decorations. I saw all ages being catered for. All their faces happy. If you fancy an Afternoon Tea with a worthwhile difference this is for you.  Ian, the area manager, and staff go the extra mile to satisfy. Highly recommend. Photo: with Kay
